It's all in the name

Isaiah 1:18-20

(18) "Come now, let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they shall be as wool. (19) If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land, (20) But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword," for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Immanuel - God with us

A lot has happened since my last post. My world turned upside down and inside out, backwards, forwards and all around. Some days I'm not sure which way is up.

Someone told me that it's amazing to see the faith God has in his children, as they go through rough times and still spread His light, joy and love. She was there a great time. I was telling her of someone else's struggles and how God has brought them through. I wasn't even thinking of my own. We do that though. We think of things other people are going through, so we don't have to face our own. We try to push through and live as if we are in a masquerade, with painted masks, trying to pretend we don't have problems or issues.

I have to remind myself that all of God's children go through struggles and sometimes the valley is a lot longer than it originally looked.

I have to remind myself that God is with me! Immanuel. Immanuel. Immanuel. When I pray I ask for strength and forgiveness and all sorts of other things. The usual it seems, guidance, help with finances, salvation for lost loved ones, my daughter to get her schoolwork done, things around the house to be unbreakable-hence finances, but rarely do I just sit and ask for God to just be with me.

Immanuel. God with us. God be with me. Just see me through. Immanuel.

Rarely, do you see in the Bible, God leaving his children. He tells us that he will always be with us. It's just sometimes we don't see through all our troubles. We don't see his goodness because we are blinded by evil. It is not just those times, when we struggle, that we don't see Him as he wants us to. We could be on the mountain top of life and not see him. How often have we done just this? How often do we, just stop and take in the beauty of this planet God created for us? How often do we, in the midst of life just stop and breathe in Immanuel?

God says, "Come now, let us reason together." Come now, not later, but now! Then He says, "let us reason together," how do we reason with a God who is far beyond our own comprehension? More than we could even imagine even with the beautiful words God had disciples and prophets write in the Bible.

Immanuel.

Breathe in mercy and exhale sin.
Breathe in Immanuel and exhale every care and burden.
Breathe in Immanuel and exhale worry, pain, sickness, fear.
Breathe in Immanuel.

Jesus means "Yahweh is Salvation."

Yahweh(YHWH): Comes from a verb which means “to exist, be.” This, plus its usage, shows that this name stresses God as the independent and self-existent God of revelation and redemption (Gen. 4:3; Ex. 6:3 (cf. 3:14); 3:12).
Compounds of Yahweh: Strictly speaking, these compounds are designations or titles which reveal additional facts about God’s character.

-Yahweh Jireh (Yireh): “The Lord will provide.” Stresses God’s provision for His people (Gen. 22:14).
-Yahweh Nissi:“The Lord is my Banner.” Stresses that God is our rallying point and our means of victory; the one who fights for His people (Ex. 17:15).
-Yahweh Shalom:“The Lord is Peace.” Points to the Lord as the means of our peace and rest (Jud. 6:24).
-Yahweh Sabbaoth:“The Lord of Hosts.” A military figure portraying the Lord as the commander of the armies of heaven (1 Sam. 1:3; 17:45).
-Yahweh Maccaddeshcem: “The Lord your Sanctifier.” Portrays the Lord as our means of sanctification or as the one who sets believers apart for His purposes (Ex. 31:13).
-Yahweh Ro’i: “The Lord my Shepherd.” Portrays the Lord as the Shepherd who cares for His people as a shepherd cares for the sheep of his pasture (Ps. 23:1).
-Yahweh Tsidkenu: “The Lord our Righteousness.” Portrays the Lord as the means of our righteousness (Jer. 23:6).
-Yahweh Shammah: “The Lord is there.” Portrays the Lord’s personal presence in the millennial kingdom (Ezek. 48:35).
-Yahweh Elohim Israel: “The Lord, the God of Israel.” Identifies Yahweh as the God of Israel in contrast to the false gods of the nations (Jud. 5:3.; Isa. 17:6).

Some much character for our Lord. Yahweh. Yahweh Shammah, my Lord is there! Can I change that to Yahweh Shammah, my Lord is HERE! With me.

To me even though the Bible gives us instructions on how to live life right or live life God's way, it is an ever present reminder that God is with us and his character is good.

Do life without Him and ask yourself how long God will allow your life to be good. Go on thinking that life can only get better but in all actual reality it will eventually get worse.

As a Christ follower, our roads are not easy but they are not hard when we realize, the one that created us is with us. Immanuel.

He has great character. Yahweh. He will never let us down. He may be silent, to see us turn to him, but he will never leave us.

Immanuel, Yahweh, Jesus, Adonai, Father, Theos, Kurios (Lord), Despotes (Master), Aba, El Olam (Everlasting God), El Shaddai (God Almighty), El Elyon (The Most High God), Elohim (strong one),

Just saying one of His names, brings peace. Just knowing what they mean brings understanding. Just dwelling on one, brings comfort. Brings a smile in the midst of pain. Brings love wrapped in arms so strong nothing can break it.
