1 hr in the Tag Office

People sit, all types, all kinds,
Calling our names, is a bushy red-head
with glasses too large for her face
and many keys swinging from her neck,
The passing of men and women in
tight cramped rows of chairs,
News media streaming overhead
making it hard to hear your name,
Voices drift over the news,
rising and falling in discord.

Window 13, a woman with a cane limps to,
Children enter, with their feet swaying
off their seats,
Requests for change, drift over my ears,
wanting drinks and candy,
a vending machines delight.

A pretty woman in a red tube top and long
flowing black curls, saunters by,
A man in the corner, looks as though he eat a few
too many watermelons whole.
The surfer makes a quick dash for the exit,
time to hit the surf.
An Elvis wanna-be, young couples dressed alike,
a mother with younglings in tow,
an elderly woman with bright red hair
and penciled brows
Await their turn…

Scary thought it is,
To see some of these people here
Knowing their abilities deteriorate over time,
Too many, too naive, to sit back and see,
Though our days of walking are gone.

I just wanted to let you know, I am working on a book for publication. So I have not gone back to that ugly word, "submission."

However, the Holy Spirit, has not let it go to far from my thoughts, even in the midst of trying to better myself as a writer. Pray for that.

I really do want to be a better writer. So I have decided that some additional studying, some exercises and prayer should do it.

Keep me in your prayers for it...

Until next time...

A Broken Yoke II

There have been times when I regarded my marriage as something that God would not approve of. Nonetheless, each year I’m married I rely more and more on God and my husband. There are things that I wish were different. Sure I do…
Wishing things were different doesn’t change reality. What is reality?
We are one of a kind. Our husbands are far from the Lord; on the other side of an impassable gorge, with its bottomless pit. We have taken the biggest step in our live - whether you are returning from backsliding or you have just become a Christ Follower – we have taken a step across that great expanse, and accepted Christ as your personal Savior.
So, now we are Christ Followers and our husbands are not. So what do we do?
The first thing we need to remember is that we can not change anyone. We are full of faults and until we can present ourselves as blameless to Christ our Savior, we have not right to attempt to save our husbands. They are blind to Gods’ truth, so don’t try to change them, you will only bring misery on yourself and your family.
Second, you are far from perfect, so stop trying to make him perfect. You chose to marry all those imperfections and all that stuff you thought was great to begin with, so shut-up and take out the trash, even though he didn’t and don’t grip about it.
Third and probably more important than the previous…
DON’T PREACH!!!! (Sorry for yelling.)
You cannot and I repeat CANNOT preach him into the kingdom of God, so zip your lips and hold your tongue. He, your husband, he is watching everything you do and say, so if you claim to be a Christ Follower and then curse someone out at the store, you will drive him away. I promise you that.
Okay, so I have given you my don’ts…
How do I prove myself Godly to my husband?
Your focus should be proving yourself Godly to Jesus, not your husband. When you accepted Christ, you accepted all His wisdom, grace, love, knowledge, power and His son Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God the Father. By following Christ you prove yourself to Christ, and no one else. (Your Husband is closest to you and Will judge you harder than anyone else. I would be leading falsely if I did not warn you of Satan’s attacks.)
This is not easy. Let me just say this up front. This will be, by far, the most difficult thing you will ever do in your life! Period! Being Christ like, in this world, is harder than anything else including labor. Everyone watches everything you do, including your attitude and your demeanor. Remember that. I also have to say, study Proverbs 31. I really mean study this chapter in Proverbs. God gives us women specific instructions on how to run a Godly household.
You must be in the Word and You MUST Pray!
These two things will become your comfort, when all else seems to fail and become impossible. Remember “ALL things ARE possible with God.” If you need, sing your favorite praise song over and over to yourself, when your man is say things that are contradictory to Gods’ Word. HOLD your tongue and PRAY right away for him, in your head.
There is strength in numbers as well. Tell your friend what you’re going through. She may not be unequally yoked but her prayers will help you get through.
Acts 4:24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.
Praying over a problem in life with a friend can have a tremendous amount of blessings on you. It can also give you a different outlook on the situation, or the strength and encouragement you need.
Psalm 17:6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer.
If your husband’s has specific things going on in his life that need prayer, by all means ask, your sisters in Christ to pray. You don’t have to give out specifics if you don’t want. God already knows the problem and how to fix our mess, all He wants is for us to submit to Him and ask.
I know I am leaving you with that word “submit.” It is a very ugly word in our society’s eyes and mind; especially for women. But you will have to come back and read some more to see what God wants me to say about that one.
I will be praying over all of us. We live in a world were a woman submitting to her husband is looked down on, but I can assure you all and even myself, that if I obey Christ and submit to my ungodly husband, I will hear the one and only thing I want to hear, “Well done, good and faithful daughter.”
God Bless. Keep Praying and don’t give up.
In Christ I pray, Amen.

A Broken Yoke

Okay, I want to scream sometimes. I don’t need guidance on how not become unequally yoked. I can go to church and learn that. This is not the problem. The problem is I’m unequally yoked. I live it. Every, single day. Okay, now what? Can anyone answer that?

There are millions of women out there, now, looking for answers on how to handle going home tonight. Millions are standing in the checkout line behind you, saying to themselves over and over again, “Lord how do I survive another night?” Some of us are thinking or have thought of ways to end a very legitimate marriage, in Gods’ eyes – NOT the worlds’ eyes. Some of us have wished for really bad things to happen to our spouses. Some of us have cried ourselves to sleep many nights because we didn’t understand the devastating decision they made. Some of us have tied our thoughts up with malice for our spouses…

Have we tried looking in the mirror?

In today’s world it is all about self. Self-image, Self-promotion, Self-service, Self-what-ever-you-want-to-add…

What are we to do, when we go to work and the topic is, what so-and-sos’ spouse did last night? Or sex? Or a co-worker is making advances at you? Or trying to sabotage you? Or your spouse feels your boss is taking advantage of you?

What about church? Does it bother you to see husband and wives holding hands, and whispering in each others ears? Envy? Jealous? I was and still am bitten by those bugs.
What about when a child is dedicated or baptized and both parents are present?

How do we deal?

My father was a preacher and my mother a preachers’ wife. Well, as life went on, my father and mother fell away from the church, eventually they divorced and my father remarried two wonderful women. Yes, two marriages since my mother and no, Mom has not remarried. Anyway, my mother gave me her wedding ring a couple of years ago. To my astonishment, there was a verse… 1 Timothy 2:11

My senor pastor was telling us for weeks that we needed to be in small groups getting to know each other. Our church is large, 6,000 plus on a weekend, so small groups are good for us. Small groups for me, have been hard, my husband wants me home when he is home, the child needs tending, and so on are the lives and duties of mothers and wives. So, I went to the pastor, and he said, “Give up your time on Saturday night or Wednesday night service.”

“My daughter attends AWANA and I serve in the Children’s Ministry on Wednesday and Saturdays are when we get our teachings in,” I told him.

He looked at me and said, “You must obey your husband!”

I was floored by the concept of having to obey my beloved. I was floored to think, even though he has no relationship with God, God still requires me to see him as, HEAD of Household. WOW! What a thought.

“You mean to tell me, Lord,” I said to myself, “He is in charge of this, my service and ministry and faith and my relationship with you?”

The answer still has a profound affect on me.

God reminded me, the more I took time for Him, the more I had to give my unbelieving husband the respect I give to my pastors and elders at church, and the same respect I give to Christ as Savior.

I won’t lie, it hasn’t been easy. The road has been long, hard, bumpy and filled with potholes and broken starts. We have been tested; we have had trials and tribulations, ups and downs, but listen to what MaryMary says about trials and tribulations:

“I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
And I don’t believe He’s brought me this far to leave me.”

If you ever have a chance, listen to this song… Can’t Give Up Now
MaryMary – Thankful – CD

PLEASE…Don’t give up, I it’s hard, but God is Faithful and He will see you through... even when the trials just keep coming.

I’ll write more another time. Keep praying, He does hear you.

1 Timothy 2:11 – “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.”
